At Draw Your Imagination, we make art that is varied, accessible, functional, beautiful.
The Bauhaus Approach
Ayesha is inspired by the Bauhaus approach to art and fine crafts, leading her to express her artwork on everything from wall hangings to fun, wearable clothes for kids. She believes art should be accessible, functional, beautiful; something to be enjoyed and lived in everyday. Staatliches Bauhaus, commonly known as the Bauhaus, was an art school in Germany that famously combined crafts with the fine arts. The school operated from 1913 to 1933 and the name literally means 'House of Construction'. The idea of the Bauhaus was to combine beautiful works of art with functionality and rationality, and to develop a 'total' work, with works of fine art made into everyday things for everyday use. The ideas from this era are considered the beginnings of modernism and have influenced fine artists, architects, interior designers, graphic designers and more for more than 100 years.
Children's Books
Draw Your Imagination brings art made with inspiration to the natural world to children through a variety of children's books. The first book to be made available is releasing at the end of 2021 and is called Who's Coming Home? The Story of Juvenile Chinook Salmon Migratory Phenotypes in California's Central Valley. It is a direct translation of a scientific paper into a rhyming colorfully illustrated story for children.
